Railway opens a world-class ✅ Executive Lounge (private waiting Area) as part of the development of the Indian Railway. Executive Lounge is one of its class fully air-conditioned facilities where railway passengers can stay while waiting for their trains.

Eastern Railway announced on 17.12.2020 that ER has set up a Premium Waiting Lounge at Kolkata station to facilitate passengers to spend quality time while waiting for the train at the station. The fully Air-Conditioned premium lounge at Kolkata station has been constructed at Platform no. 1, covering an area of 2000 sq ft.
It has a wide range of facilities available on nominal charges as value-added services like Recliner, Saloon, Spa, Game Zone, Massage Zone and facilities of Tea & Snacks etc. It will enrich the journey for both the domestic and international passengers at Kolkata Station.
This Premium Waiting Lounge at Kolkata station has been constructed through Public-Private Partnership for better maintenance and efficient operation of the services. The entry charge to this Premium Lounge is only Rs. 30 per hour for a person. While the comfortable sofa and Game Zone inside the lounge is available at no additional charge, the other specialised services like Spa, Saloon, Recliner etc have some nominal charges.
Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) Mumbai
Central Railway (CR) has started a new state-of-the-art AC waiting for the lounge at CSMT for a nominal fee of Rs 10 per hour. The lounge, called Namah, is located along the corridor that connects platform 14, 15, 16, 17 and 18 with the main entrance of CSMT mainline station. It is being run under the public-private partnership (PPP) model.
The waiting room is equipped with sofas, dining tables, toilet, bathroom with bath kit, cloakroom, library, laptop seating arrangements with charging points, café service, buffet service, travel kit (with disposable linen set) facility and more. In the lines of lounges at airports, there is also an LED screen which displays the arrival and departure time of trains and also a train announcement system. The operator of the waiting lounge said, “Initially we are taking Rs 50 per person as a security deposit. When customers leave, we refund the amount.” Children between 5 and 12 will be charged Rs 5 per hour. Entry for children below five is free.
If this lounge at CSMT is successful, similar lounges will be set up at other stations like LTT, Dadar, Thane and Kalyan.

Salem Jn Railway Station : Rates of Executive Lounge
To receive and host the VIPs visiting Salem Junction, the new VIP Lounge is being located at PF No.1 near the main concourse area. This air conditioned VIP Lounge will serve the VIPs/Dignitaries arriving at/departing from Salem Junction, round the clock. This lounge has a seating capacity of 12 persons and has been provided with an attached toilet facility.
Malda Railway Station of West Bengal
Eastern Railway’s Malda Division commissioned its second Air-conditioned paid Premium Lounge in Malda station in a prime location at platform No. 1 on 18/9/2019. The lounge at Malda station will usher a new benchmark in luxury and comfort. Push sofa chairs, recliners and centre-tables are being provided in this Air-conditioned paid Premium Lounge.
Passengers can avail these facilities at the heart of platform No. 1 at Malda Town station on payment of a nominal charge of Rs. 30/- for sofa and Rs. 50/- for recliners on hourly basis.
Bhagalpur Railway Station of Bihar
An air conditioned paid premium lounge of 1100 sqft. area was commissioned in Sep 2019 in Bhagalpur station of Bihar. Passengers can avail this facility available at heart of platform on payment of nominal charge of Rs 30 and Rs 50 per hour for sofa and recliner respectively.

Other details regarding Railway Executive Lounge Booking are following.
- One photo identity proof issued by Govt. like PAN card, Voter ID, Passport, Aadhar Card, Driving License etc and valid train ticket either reserved or unreserved can be used as ID Proof for visiting Executive Lounge.
- Any bonafide Railway passenger can stay at Executive Lounge.
- All visa/master/maestro debit/credit cards are accepted at Executive Lounge.
- Access to the lounge is controlled by a smart card which is issued to each passenger at the time of check-in. Passengers are required to swipe the smart card at the entry door to enter/exit from the Lounge. Once the card is swiped, the time is recorded and the time of stay starts. Entry and exit time is automatically calculated in the system.
- Charges for children up to 3 feet of height are complimentary. Anyone above 3 feet height shall be considered personal and charges applicable shall be charged.
- Any Railway passenger may use the lounge services, otherwise eligible, and families travelling in groups or for marriages may also come to the lounge. However, it is suggested that in such cases to check availability in advance at the executive lounge.
- The information of Executive Lounge is available on 139. One may SMS “Lounge” to 139 and revert SMS shall be sent from 139. Lounge operating Timings and availability as per the slot (2 hours). Open at: 00:00 Close at: 24:00

I used the visakhapatnam executive lounge recently for self and family. It is a welcome change but needs improvement. It is on 1st floor. No lifts. Difficult to climb with heavy luggage. Hot water was not working. Bathroom cleanliness needs to be improved.
I used the one in Vijayawada and really liked it. It was comfortable and good for the money charged. Request you to have a list where you have these lounges operate, so one can plan better

Have been trying to make an advance booking for the executive lounge at NDLS. Unable to enter the date, as the system is throwing up garbled data in the date field upon selecting the calendar date. Please can you help / guide. Had called up customer care, they said it is working. No luck so far.
