MEGA BLOCK March 08, 2026:: MUMBAI LOCAL TRAIN

MUMBAI MEGA BLOCK: CENTRAL LINE, HARBOUR LINE, TRANS HARBOUR LINE, URAN LINE, and WESTERN LINE: March 08, 2026

Central Railway and Western Railway will conduct Mumbai Mega Block and Jumbo Block on most of the Sundays for the maintenance works of rail racks and other related works under both the Railway zones.

Central Railway’s Train Block is called ✅ Mega Block and Western Railway’s Train Block is called ✅ Jumbo Block.

Central Railway announced the details of Mega Block on Sunday, i.e., on 08.03.2026. Western Railway also announced the details of Jumbo Blocks in the Western Line on 08.03.2026. Mumbai local train mega block details are as follows:

Mumbai Sunday Mega Block

CENTRAL LINE

MATUNGA – MULUND ( 11:20 AM to 3:45 PM)

Central Railway has announced a Sunday Mega Block on central line between Matunga and Mulund from 11:05 AM to 3:45 PM on Up and Down fast lines.

Also announced another Major Train Blocks, here are the details.

Karjat – Bhivpuri Road : Special Traffic and Power Blocks Upto 09.03.2026

Special Traffic and Power Blocks between Karjat and Bhivpuri Road, on mid-night of 06/07.03.2026 (Friday/Saturday), 07/08.03.2026 (Saturday/Sunday night time) and 08/09.03.2026 (Sunday/Monday).

Central Railway announced that will operate Special Traffic and Power blocks for erection of portal boom at km 97/16-97/4 and TTB at km97/7A for Panvel-Karjat corridor under MUTP-III, between Karjat and Bhivpuri Road stations on mid-night of 06/07.03.2026 (Friday/Saturday), 07/08.03.2026 (Saturday/Sunday night time) and 08/09.03.2026 (Sunday/Monday).

- 06/07.03.2026 (Friday/Saturday night time),
- 07/08.03.2026 (Saturday/Sunday night time),
- 08/09.03.2026 (Sunday/Monday night time).
Duration of block: 01.55 hrs to 03.10 hrs Each night

Repercussions on Train running : Diversion of Mail and Express trains

Following trains will be diverted via Karjat – Panvel – Diva route and will arrive destination 10 to 20 minutes late.
- Train no 11020 Bhubaneshwar New-CSMT Express, 18519 Visakhapatnam – LTT Express and 12702 Hyderabad-CSMT Exp.
- Kalyan halting trains will be given alternate halt at Panvel / Thane for the benefit of passengers scheduled to entrain/detrain at Kalyan station.
- Mail/Express trains / Holiday special trains running late will be diverted/regulated as per operational requirement.

Working of suburban trains during the block period on 06/07.03.2026 (Friday/Saturday night time) and 08/09.03.2026 (Sunday/Monday night time).
- Suburban services will not be available between Badlapur and Karjat stations during the block period.
- Last local before the block for Karjat will depart CSMT at 23.30 hrs.
- Last local on DOWN direction will depart CSMT at 00.12 hrs and will be short terminated at Badlapur instead of Karjat.
- Last local before the block on UP direction will be Badlapur – CSMT local departing Badlapur at 23.29 hrs.
- First local after the block for DOWN direction will be Thane – Karjat departing Thane at 05.00 hrs.
- First local after the block for UP direction will be Karjat – CSMT departing Karjat at 03.35 hrs.
- First local for UP direction will short originate at Badlapur at 03.03 hrs .

- Suburban services will not be available between Badlapur and Karjat stations during the block period.

Thakurli – Kalyan : Special Traffic and Power Blocks Upto 09.03.2026

Special Traffic and Power Blocks on mid-night of 06/07.03.2026 (Friday/Saturday), 07/08.03.2026 (Saturday/Sunday night time) and 08/09.03.2026 (Sunday/Monday) at Kalyan.

Central Railway has announced that it will operate special traffic and power blocks for launching girders for the construction of the 3rd Patripool ROB at Kalyan (km 51/138–140) between Thakurli and Kalyan. The blocks will be carried out during the midnight hours of 06/07.03.2026 (Friday/Saturday), 07/08.03.2026 (Saturday/Sunday), and 08/09.03.2026 (Sunday/Monday).

- Train no 22537 Gorakhpur-LTT Express and Train no 11062 Jaynagar – LTT Express will be diverted on UP Fast line between Kalyan and Dombivli stations

Cancellation / Short Termination / Short Origination of Suburban trains
- UP slow and fast services and DOWN slow and fast services between Dombivli and Kalyan will remain cancelled during the block period.
- CSMT – Ambarnath local departing CSMT at 05.16 hrs and Ambarnath – CSMT local departing Ambarnath at 03.43 hrs remain cancelled.
- CSMT – Karjat local departing CSMT at 00.08 hrs will be short terminated at Thane station.
- Karjat – CSMT local scheduled to depart Karjat at 02.30 hrs will short originate from Thane station at 04.00 hrs.

Working of suburban trains during the block period
- Last local before the block on DOWN Slow line will be CSMT-Kasara local departing Kalyan at 01.37 hrs.
- First local after the block on UP slow line will be Ambarnath-CSMT local departing Kalyan at 04.21 hrs.
- Last local on UP slow line before the block and First local on DOWN slow line after the block will run as per schedule.

NO Repercussions on Train running on 08/09.03.2026 (Sunday/Monday).

Central Railway has announced a Sunday Mega Block on Harbour line between Kurla and Vashi from 11:10 AM to 4:10 PM both directions.

WESTERN LINE

Mahim – Santacruz Stations ( 01.00 hrs – 04.30 hrs )

Western Railway’s Night Jumbo Block between Mahim and Santacruz Stations

Western Railway has announced that there will be no day block on Sunday, 8th March 2026 on the suburban section. However, Western Railway will operate a Night Jumbo Block between Mahim and Santacruz stations from 1:00 hrs to 4:30 hrs during the intervening night of Saturday/Sunday, 7th/8th March 2026 on the UP and DOWN Slow lines for maintenance of track, signalling systems and overhead equipment.

During the block period, all DOWN slow line trains will be operated on the DOWN Fast Line between Mumbai Central and Santacruz stations. Due to inadequate platform length, these trains will halt twice at Lower Parel, Mahim and Khar Road stations and will not halt at Mahalaxmi, Prabhadevi and Matunga Road stations. Some suburban services will also remain cancelled during the block period. The detailed list of affected trains will be available with the Station Masters at all stations on the suburban section.

There will be No Block in Day Time over Western Railway Suburban Section on Sunday, 08.03.2026.

The maintenance mega block / jumbo block is essential for infrastructure upkeep and safety. Passengers are requested to bear with the Railway Administration for the inconvenience caused.

any mega block on Central Railway
between 31/03/2018 11.30 pm to 01/04/2018, any work going on at Bhandup regarding Gurder or any other work, all lines are closed, start from 01/04/2018, about 5:45 am
pls confirm and inform me about status,
my daughter's traing in Indian Navy
