MEGA BLOCK August 23, 2026:: MUMBAI LOCAL TRAIN

MUMBAI MEGA BLOCK: CENTRAL LINE, HARBOUR LINE, TRANS HARBOUR LINE, URAN LINE, and WESTERN LINE: August 23, 2026

Central Railway and Western Railway will conduct Mumbai Mega Block and Jumbo Block on most of the Sundays for the maintenance works of rail racks and other related works under both the Railway zones.

Central Railway’s Train Block is called ✅ Mega Block and Western Railway’s Train Block is called ✅ Jumbo Block.

Central Railway announced the details of Mega Block on Sunday, i.e., on 23.08.2026. But Western Railway not yet announced the details of Jumbo Block on 23.08.2026. Mumbai local train blocks details are as follows:

CENTRAL LINE

CSMT – VIDYAVIHAR (10:55 am – 03:55 pm)

Central Railway has announced a Sunday Mega Block on central line between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus and Vidya Vihar from 10:55 AM to 3:55 PM on Up and Down slow lines.

• During the block, Down slow line trains departing from CSMT – Mumbai between 10:48 AM and 3:45 PM will be diverted to the Down fast line between CSMT and Vidyavihar. These trains will halt at Byculla, Parel, Dadar, Matunga, Sion and Kurla, and will be diverted back to the Down slow line near Vidyavihar.
• Up slow line trains departing from Ghatkopar between 10:19 AM and 3:52 PM will be diverted to the Up fast line between Vidyavihar and CSMT. These trains will make halts at Kurla, Sion, Matunga, Dadar and Byculla.

HARBOUR LINE

KURLA – VASHI (11:10 am – 04:10 pm)

Central Railway has announced a Sunday Mega Block on Harbour line between Kurla and Vashi from 11:10 AM to 4:10 PM both directions.

Following are more details on the same

• During the block, Down Harbour Line services running from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) to Wadala / Belapur / Panvel between 10:34 AM and 3:36 PM, and Up Harbour Line services running from Panvel / Belapur / Wadala to CSMT between 10:17 AM and 3:47 PM, will remain cancelled.
• During the block period, special services will operate between CSMT – Kurla – CSMT and Panvel – Wadala – Panvel.
  During the block, Harbour Line passengers will be permitted to travel between Thane – Wadala / Nerul stations from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

WESTERN LINE

Borivali – Bhayandar (12:30 AM to 4:30 AM)

Western railways announced that Sunday, 23 August 2026, no jumbo block will be operated on the suburban section of Western Railway during the daytime.

However, for maintenance of railway tracks, signalling systems and overhead equipment, a jumbo block will be taken on the Up and Down lines between Borivali and Bhayandar stations during the night of Saturday – Sunday, 22 – 23 August 2026, from 12:30 AM to 4:30 AM.

During the block period, some train services will be cancelled. Passengers can check the list of affected services at the Station Master’s office.

The maintenance mega block / jumbo block is essential for infrastructure upkeep and safety. Passengers are requested to bear with the Railway Administration for the inconvenience caused.
