MUMBAI MEGA BLOCK: CENTRAL LINE, HARBOUR LINE, TRANS HARBOUR LINE, URAN LINE, and WESTERN LINE: August 30, 2026

Central Railway and Western Railway will conduct Mumbai Mega Block and Jumbo Block on most of the Sundays for the maintenance works of rail racks and other related works under both the Railway zones.

Central Railway’s Train Block is called ✅ Mega Block and Western Railway’s Train Block is called ✅ Jumbo Block.

Central Railway announced the details of Mega Block on Sunday, i.e., on 30.08.2026. But Western Railway not yet announced the details of Jumbo Block on 30.08.2026. Mumbai local train blocks details are as follows:

CENTRAL LINE

VIDYAVIHAR – THANE (08:00 am – 01:30 pm)

Central Railway will operate a Mega Block between Vidyavihar and Thane stations on the 5th and 6th lines from 8:00 AM to 1:30 PM.

Main Line / Express Train Diversions

During the block, the following Down Mail and Express trains will be diverted:

• Trains will run through the Down Slow line at Vidyavihar station and then take the Down Main line.
• From Thane, they will again be routed through the 5th line.
• Due to the diversion, these trains are expected to be 10 – 15 minutes late compared with their scheduled timings.

Affected trains:

• Train No. 11055 Lokmanya Tilak Terminus – Gorakhpur Godan Express
• Train No. 11061 Lokmanya Tilak Terminus – Jaynagar Express
• Train No. 16345 Lokmanya Tilak Terminus – Thiruvananthapuram Netravati Express
• Train No. 17222 Lokmanya Tilak Terminus – Kakinada Port Express

During the block period, the following ‘Up’ Mail and Express trains will be diverted to the ‘Up’ fast line at Thane station, and trains heading to Lokmanya Tilak Terminus will be diverted to the 6th line at Vidyavihar. As a result, they will reach their destinations 10 to 15 minutes late.

HARBOUR LINE

TRANS – HARBOUR LINE

THANE – VASHI/NERUL/PANVEL (10:25 am – 04:10 pm)

Central Railway has announced a Sunday Mega Block on Trans – Harbour line between Thane and Vashi/Nerul/Panvel from 10:25 AM to 4:10 PM both directions.

Following are more details on the same

• Up and Down Trans-Harbour Line services between Thane and Vashi/Nerul/Panvel will be suspended from 11:10 AM to 4:10 PM.
• During the block period, train services between Thane and Vashi/Nerul/Panvel on the Up and Down Trans-Harbour Line will remain suspended.
• Down services from Thane to Vashi/Nerul/Panvel will remain cancelled from 10:35 AM to 4:07 PM.
• Up services from Panvel/Nerul/Vashi to Thane will remain cancelled from 10:25 AM to 4:09 PM.
• Belapur – Uran line trains will run according to the Sunday timetable.

URAN LINE

WESTERN LINE

VASAI – BHAYANDAR (11:30 PM to 4:30 AM)

Western Railway Jumbo Block Tonight: Vasai to Bhayandar Fast Lines Shut from 23:30

If you travel on the Western Railway suburban section, there is good news and a catch.

The good news: there will be no daytime jumbo block on Sunday, 30 August 2026. Sunday services run normally through the day.

The catch: the maintenance work has been shifted to the night instead. A jumbo block will be taken on the night of 29 and 30 August 2026, from 23:30 hours to 04:30 hours, on the Up and Down fast lines between Vasai and Bhayandar.

What this means for you

During the block window, Up and Down fast trains will be diverted to the slow line between Virar and Borivali/Bhayandar. Expect fast services in this stretch to halt at intermediate stations and run slower than usual.

Some suburban services may also be cancelled during the block. The list of affected trains is displayed at the concerned station master’s office.

Who should plan ahead

Late night commuters between Virar, Vasai, Nalasopara, Bhayandar and Borivali are the ones affected. If you have a train after 23:30 on Saturday night, check the station indicator or the Western Railway helpline before you leave.

The maintenance mega block / jumbo block is essential for infrastructure upkeep and safety. Passengers are requested to bear with the Railway Administration for the inconvenience caused.
