Vande Bharat Sleeper Trains India’s first Vande Bharat Express sleeper train is expected to start running by the end of December 2025. The first train will be sent out from BEML (Bharat Earth Movers Limited) in Bengaluru on September 20, as confirmed by Bengaluru Central MP PC Mohan on social media. Until now, all Vande Bharat trains had only seating arrangements, but this new version will have sleeping berths, so people can travel comfortably at night. The sleeper coaches are being built by Integral Coach Factory (ICF) and BEML. These coaches will have: Wider berths for better sleep Brighter interiors Bigger and cleaner toilets The train will have a total of 16 coaches with 823 berths, including: 11 3AC coaches with 611 berths 4 2AC coaches with 188 berths 1 1AC coach with 24 berths This new sleeper train is a big step forward for Indian Railways, making long-distance travel faster and more comfortable for passengers. Vande Bharat Express Sleeper Train Last year, Union Railway Minister announced the approval of the Vande Bharat Sleeper trains' basic design and the commencement of their manufacturing. This sleeper train, comprising 20-22 coaches, will incorporate 3 designated luggage bogies for heavy baggage. Passengers carrying luggage exceeding 40 kg will incur additional charges per kilogram. These luggage bogies are designed in a contemporary fashion.
