Noida Metro Rail Noida Metro Rail Corporation Limited or NMRC is a Joint Venture Company of Government of India (GoI) and Government of Uttar Pradesh (GoUP) established for the purpose of planning, building and establishing of Mass transit and other urban transport and people mover systems of all types and disciplines. Two major projects namely Metro Rail between Noida and Greater Noida and City Bus services between Noida and Greater Noida and in the cities of Noida and Greater Noida have been undertaken by the Company. The time duration is approximately to 7 minutes 30 second during the peak hours and 10 minutes during off peak duration (Monday to Friday). Noida Metro services usually start at 6:00 am to 10:45 pm. The envisaged ticketing system shall operate using open non-proprietary standards so that it can be integrated with ticketing systems of other transit operators in Noida. Considering interoperability, scalability and reliability offered by EMV based open loop ticketing system, NMRC has decided to implement open loop based ticketing system across all metro stations. Due to non-proprietary standards this system can potentially be extended across other public transport services in Noida such as city buses. Items Not to Carry in Metro The commuters are prohibited from carrying 20 items while traveling in the metro train. Explosive substances, which possess risk of explosion, or fire, or both Gases, compressed, liquefied, or dissolved under pressure Petroleum and other inflammable liquids Inflammable solids Oxidising substances Poisonous (toxic) substances Acids and other corrosives Radioactive substances Blood, dried No goods other than a small baggage containing personal belongings not exceeding 60 cm * 45 cm * 25 cm in size and 45 kg in weight Corpses Carcasses of dead animals Bones, excluding bleached and cleaned bones Manure of any kind Rags, including oily rags Any decayed animal or vegetable matter Human ashes Human skeleton Parts of human body Any other article declared as dangerous or offensive material by the metro railway administration from time to time Offence and Penalties Drunken behaviour, vandalism, indecency, use of offensive & abusive language is punishable with a fine that may extend to Rs. 500/-. Carrying dangerous & offensive material on Metro Rail is punishable with imprisonment extending up to 4 years and a fine of up to Rs. 5000/-. Putting up posters without lawful authority or defacing the Metro premises or trains will invite penalties, which may extend up to 6 months imprisonment and /or a fine up to Rs.1000/-. Travelling on the roof or any other part of the train, not intended for the use of the passengers, will result in a fine of Rs. 50/-or imprisonment of 1 month or both. Walking on Metro tracks without lawful authority will be punishable by imprisonment up to 6 months or a fine of up to Rs. 500/- or both. Willfully obstructing any Metro official in discharging his or her duties will result in punishment with imprisonment up to 1 year or fine up to Rs.1000/- or both. Improper use of official communication equipment will be punishable by imprisonment up to 1 year or fine up to Rs.1000/- or both. Damaging Metro boards or documents shall be punishable with imprisonment up to 2 months and/or penalty of Rs.250/-. Unauthorised sale of tickets shall be punishable with a sentence of upto 3 months and/or fine up to Rs. 500/-. If any person throws an object with intent to damage any part of the train or its passengers, he/she will be punished with a life sentence or rigorous imprisonment extending up to 10 years. Damage to any property or causing fire hazards or explosions will result in imprisonment extending up to 10 years. Tampering with any safety device and endangering the safety of passengers or obstructing trains will result in imprisonment, extending up to 7 years. Any Unauthorised sale of articles at Metro Railway premises shall be punishable with a fine of up to Rs. 500/- or imprisonment up to 6 months. Ticket-less travel will result in a fine of Rs. 50/-.
