This prestigious service significantly enhances long-distance rail connectivity between eastern India and the Northeast, offering passengers a faster, safer, and more comfortable travel experience. Train Nos· 27576/27575 Kamakhya – Howrah – Kamakhya Vande Bharat Sleeper Express The first Vande Bharat Sleeper Train will be flagged off on 17 January 2026. Train No.27576 Kamakhya-Howrah Vande Bharat Sleeper Expresswill leave Kamakhya everyday (except Wednesday) at 18:15 hrs and will reach Howrah at 08:15 hrs, the next day. Train No.27575 Howrah–Kamakhya Vande Bharat Sleeper Express will leave Howrah everyday (except Thursday) at 18:20 hrs and will arrive Kamakhya at 08:20 hrs, the next day. Halting In Assam, the districts covered are Kamrup Metropolitan and Bongaigaon. In West Bengal, the route passes through Howrah, Hooghly, Purba Bardhaman, Murshidabad, Malda, Jalpaiguri, and Cooch Behar. The rail connectivity is provided between Howrah and Guwahati (Kamakhya). The 10 rakes of 16-car Vande Bharat sleeper train will run with a maximum operating speed of 160 kmph (180 kmph during testing). Reading lamps, charging outlets, a snack table, and a mobile/magazine holder will be there on the train coach. Vande Bharat Sleeper Trains : Luggage Limit The planned Vande Bharat Sleeper Class will adhere to the same luggage limit as the aircraft. This sleeper train, comprising 20-22 coaches, will incorporate 3 designated luggage bogies for heavy baggage. Passengers carrying luggage exceeding 40 kg will incur additional charges per kilogram. These luggage bogies are designed in a contemporary fashion.
