Railway Catering Services

Catering services for passengers are provided through Pantry Cars, Mini Pantries, Train Side Vending, and Static Catering Units at various en-route stations. In addition, passengers can order meals of their choice through e-Catering services, which are available at major stations along the route. Special meal options such as diabetic food, Jain food, and baby food (for children below five years) are also available for passengers.

MENU FOR RAJDHANI/SHATABDI/DURONTO EXPRESS TRAINS

Service-wise Tariff for Rajdhani, Shatabdi, and Duronto Express Trains

For 1A/Executive Class (EC)

  • Morning Tea costs ₹35.
  • Breakfast costs ₹140.
  • Lunch or Dinner costs ₹245.
  • Evening Tea costs ₹140.

For 2AC/3AC/Chair Car (CC)

  • Morning Tea costs ₹20.
  • Breakfast costs ₹105.
  • Lunch or Dinner costs ₹185.
  • Evening Tea costs ₹90.

For Sleeper Class (SL) in Duronto Trains

  • Morning Tea costs ₹15.
  • Breakfast costs ₹65.
  • Lunch or Dinner costs ₹120.
  • Evening Tea costs ₹50.

Service-wise Tariff for Vande Bharat Express (All rates are inclusive of 5% GST)

For Executive Class (EC)

  • Tea, Coffee, or Beverages cost ₹15.
  • Breakfast with Morning Tea costs ₹155.
  • Lunch or Dinner costs ₹244.
  • Evening Tea with Snacks costs ₹105.

For Chair Car (CC)

  • Tea, Coffee, or Beverages cost ₹15.
  • Breakfast with Morning Tea costs ₹122.
  • Lunch or Dinner costs ₹222.
  • Evening Tea with Snacks costs ₹66.

(This service shall be applicable between pair of stations when there is no other services)

Service-wise Tariff of Standard Food Items for Mail and Express Trains

  • Breakfast (Vegetarian): ₹40 in mobile units and ₹35 in static units.
  • Breakfast (Non-Vegetarian): ₹50 in mobile units and ₹45 in static units.
  • Standard Meal (Vegetarian): ₹80 in mobile units and ₹70 in static units.
  • Standard Meal (Non-Vegetarian with Egg Curry): ₹90 in mobile units and ₹80 in static units.
  • Standard Meal (Non-Vegetarian with Chicken Curry): ₹130 in mobile units and ₹120 in static units.

Tariff for Biryani and Snack Meals

  • Veg Biryani (350 gms): ₹80 in mobile units and ₹70 in static units.
  • Egg Biryani (350 gms): ₹90 in mobile units and ₹80 in static units.
  • Chicken Biryani (350 gms): ₹110 in mobile units and ₹100 in static units.
  • Snack Meal with Regional Items (350 gms): ₹50 in both mobile and static units.

Menu and Tariff for Rajdhani, Shatabdi, and Duronto Express Trains

  • Standard Tea (150 ml): ₹5 per cup.
  • Tea with Tea Bag (150 ml): ₹10 per cup.
  • Coffee with Instant Coffee Powder (150 ml): ₹10 per cup.
  • Packaged Drinking Water:
  • 1000 ml bottle – ₹15
  • 500 ml bottle – ₹10

Janata Meal

  • A Janata Meal includes: 7 poories (175 gms), Dry aloo curry (150 gms), Pickle sachet (15 gms) : The cost is ₹20 in mobile units and ₹15 in static units.

All meal tariffs are inclusive of GST.

  1. I am travelling currently in 12130 howra Pune superfast express. I have taken lunch non veg and they charge me 150rs as per price list the charges is 55 rs . Please take a action my seat number is B1,6 in third AC.

  2. Guys no one will take action on them. Even government not consider our comments to take action on them. I am traveling dadar to sangameshwar in 10103 mandavi express the irctc catering staff overcharging on all the products. They don’t have menu card or price list and they don’t want to show it.

  3. मेरा एक सुझाब है irctc के लिए जिससे cutomer ओवर चार्जिंग से बच सकते है
    IRCTC कस्टमर से ऑनलाइन टिकट बुकिंग के समय ही लंच और डिनर या ब्रेकफास्ट का पैसा चार्ज कर ले और लंच ब्रेकफास्ट और डिनर के लिए OTP टिकट के साथ जारी कर दे या फिर फ़ोन या मेल पर भेज दे
    अब ट्रैन के कैटरिंग डिपार्टमेंट को रिजर्वेशन चार्ट की तरह ही एक चार्ट जारी करे
    अब कैटरिंग डिपार्टमेंट उस लिस्ट के हिसाब से कन्फर्म टिकट वालों को लंच डिनर और बरेअक फ़ास्ट सर्व करें और बदले में उन कस्टमर से OTP या पासवर्ड ले ले और उसे अपने चार्ट में दर्ज कराते जाएं
    चार्ट में दर्ज OTP या पासवर्ड वेरीफाई होने पर IRCTC उन्हें पेमेंट कर दे
    इसमे कोई ओवर चार्जिंग का सवाल ही नही है
    सुझाव अच्छा लगे तो इसे अमल में लाएं

    Travelling dhanbad to delhi in 12329 west bengal sampark kranti express on 13/8/2019.
    Vendor are charging rupees 30 per two samosas from all over train. As per irctc rate they have to charge rs 20 for two nos. How much they looted from whole train you can calculate. When i complain panatry manager mr sanjay and mr anuj tomer becoming voilent rude and giving life threat to me. They are saying sale tere jaise bahut dekhey hain. Zyada bolega ya vedio banayega to train se fek dunga. Or gandi gandi galiyan bhi dene lagey. Which i cannot mention here. Modi ji or his rail minister no one for us. Who can help us and prevent us from loot….

  5. Pantry staff is collecting ₹118/- for standard casserole meals in Zhelum express my PNR No 8722333681 is and our berth is in S1 50,51,52,53. After charging 118 they even not gave water, curd, this is ridiculous and horrible.

  6. sir i m a regular traveler of indian railways in 3AC .On 10th july i boarded coimbatore exp from LTT at 2235 hrs on 11th morning i saw your latest menu online . For my shock and dismay i found the actual rates were 3 times higher than fixed by irctc i.a.w latest website update. I was charged as below :-
    breakfast 40 rupees 3nos idly 1 vada
    lunch rice 2parota 2sabji dal dahi pickle 300ml water 120 rupees
    I request that appropriate action should be taken with immediate effect to rescue Irctc reputation on emergency basis.

  8. travelled on 7th Jun in Mangla Exp from Clt to Delhi. Water, even Rail Neer, sold for Rs 20 making a dubious profit of Rs 5000/7500 per trip (selling an estimated 1000-1500 bottles). No water (250 ml PDW glass) with meals forcing us to buy Rs 20 bottles. Bought Upma, Vada for breakfast for Rs 90 (3 pkts), when opened saw only a cup of upma, nothing else but IRCTC publishes so many items on reverse of ticket. I have sweet memories of superfine catering of that train since 1983 (when it was Jayanti Janta Exp) but IRCTC has now found ways to make profit, perhaps to balance the loss they suffer in catering in Rajdhani etc.

  9. I am traveling on Goa Chandigarh spk experience.
    The catering service are charging more than what is mentioned on Ur page.
    I also asked for rate card but they refused to give with a excuse that they don’t have any.
    Water Rs.20/-
    Tea Palin = 10/-
    Every one on this train are paying their hard earnings just for their family.
    And in this hot temperature water is basic need.

  10. The question is arising about the seriousness of IRCTC as a no same complaint is coming but no response is looking forward. I am the same victim of extra drinking water charges and veg Thalia 100 rupees in train no 11062 s 11.

  12. Travelling thru himgiri, you are charging veg thali rs 130/- & Rs 140/- for non veg thali, Rs 10 for any tea in B1. Also they are providing water glass on their own and niether providing any bills for these services. On this you will respond to register complaint on your site. Why don’t you plan a surprise visit ask with the passenger about the charges or your I should think that your officer had personally involved in charging this rate. And if this official rate declared by you than this should be fixed it on the pantry card itself.

  13. I am travelling in Poorva express from bwn to nlds. My seat no.is RC/B5/39. Here in catering boys are charging rs. 130 for 1 plate veg. Meal.
    PLEASE TAKE STEPS. THEY ARE CHARGING DOUBLE.

  14. The packaged water bottle which is priced at Rs.15 per litre is always sold at Rs. 20 by the catering in train, I had seen this in many routes that I traveled.

  15. They are changing double from its original rates provided by Indian rail in AP express on 19-01-19 traveling in B-5 ,seat no 49.
    When I asked about rate card of meal then reply very rudely and denied to show.. it’s just like dadagiri over government system..

  18. I am travelling in12519 kamakhya express which started on 21 Oct 2018 from ltt my pnr no is 8306904482 . Caterar of this train charged RS 120 for veg meal and non veg (egg) meal RS 130. As per irctc rates this is double charge. When I asked for the bill they simply refused. Please look into this matter and please give me feedback

  19. Sir Khana ka koi v itam me jyada charge le raha hai… Jesse non veg Thali 150/- ,egg thali 130/- Pani bottle 20/- … 12860 gitanjali express me. sir kuchh kijiye ishka.

    Hamare Sarkar bolte hai.. Ki shashte me Khana milega…. Lekin jaha Khane Ka jaroorat hai Wahi mahgai hai……

  21. I travelled with Lichvi Express – ANVT to SV and veg thali with matar Paneer was for Rs 120. I don’t know if it was genuine. My seats were S 12 – 41, 42,43,44,45,46,49,50,56.

    Pls see if it’s genuine as urvrate card shows different

  22. For plate roti they are charging 70/- Rs. when asked for menu prise list, they say they dont have it.
    I am travelling by Kachiguda express 17604, S4 56.

    The menu list and cost needs to be printed and pasted in each boogie so ur catering team will not fool passengers.

    Please improve your service….

  23. Egg Biriyani Rs.80/- in casserol, Veg Thali in Casserol Rs.120/- & Egg Thali in casserol Rs.130/- charged by Singh catering in Samta Exp. Vishakapattanam to New Delhi Dt.24.06.18. S4 66,67,69,70 & 71. Raipur to Nagpur. I have receipt. Please enquire.
