The move followed an incident on 23 June, when a commuter was stabbed inside a first-class coach of a Churchgate to Nalasopara local. What the government is planning: Safety audit of 150 suburban stations, covering CCTV, police deployment and other arrangements. For women commuters: at present, 218 railway security teams monitor ladies coaches between 9:00 PM and 6:00 AM, with four security personnel on every train during night hours. This became possible after the sixth line between Kandivali and Borivali was completed, which allowed Bandra Terminus-bound long-distance trains to shift to the fifth and sixth lines between Borivali and Bandra Terminus and improved efficiency. Of the four new services, two run UP and two run DOWN, all in slow mode. In the UP direction, one runs Bhayandar to Bandra at 11:39 hrs and one runs Bhayandar to Churchgate at 12:14 hrs.
