Digi Locker Facility at Railway Stations Details The DigiLocker facility at railway stations is part of the Digital India initiative by the Government of India to promote paperless and convenient travel. Konkan Railway has launched a DigiLocker facility at Ratnagiri, Thivim, and Udupi stations, effective from 16th October 2025. This initiative aims to enhance passenger convenience by offering a modern, secure, and self-operated luggage storage system. Passengers can now store their belongings safely and easily using a QR-based digital payment system, which accepts UPI, credit cards, debit cards, and other digital modes. The facility operates 24x7, ensuring continuous access for travelers and supporting the Government of India’s Digital India initiative to create a digitally empowered public transport system. Key Features of Digi Locker Facility The self-operated Digi Locker facility is available round the clock, ensuring accessibility at all times. Passengers can make payments easily through UPI, credit cards, debit cards and other digital payment modes. The service offers passengers a secure, efficient and hassle-free option to store their belongings, contributing to the Digitizing India movement in public transport infrastructure. Passengers can store important travel-related documents like Aadhaar, Driving Licence, Vehicle Registration, ID proofs, or other certificates securely in digital form. Indian Railways has authorised Digi Locker documents as valid identity proof. Passengers can show the digital copy of their ID from the Digi Locker app during ticket checking. Available through the Digi Locker mobile app or website (https://digilocker.gov.in). It can be accessed anytime, even while travelling. Helps reduce the need to carry printed copies of identity documents, making the journey smoother and eco-friendly. Documents are issued directly by government departments and verified digitally, ensuring authenticity and safety. How to Use Digi Locker for Train Travel Download the DigiLocker app or visit the official website. Sign in using your Aadhaar number or mobile number.
