Cyclone Montha : : Train Updates

As Cyclone Montha is expected to hit land today, Andhra Pradesh and Odisha have been put on high alert. Authorities have started moving people to safer places and preparing for the cyclone’s impact. The weather department has warned of rough seas along the Andhra coast from Nellore to Srikakulam, with waves rising between 2 and 4.7 metres as the storm strengthens on Tuesday morning. Most parts of coastal Andhra Pradesh are likely to get light to moderate rain, with some areas seeing heavy to very heavy rain and a few places getting extremely heavy rainfall between October 27 and 29.

East Coast Railway has announced changes in the pattern of train services due to Cyclone ‘MONTHA’. The details are given below.

Fully Cancelled

Train No. 12805 Visakhapatnam – Lingampalli Express is cancelled on 29.10.2025.
Train No. 17220 Visakhapatnam – Machilipatnam Express is cancelled on 29.10.2025.
Train No. 17244 Rayagada – Guntur Express is cancelled on 29.10.2025.
Train No. 07166 Bhubaneswar New – Hyderabad Express is cancelled on 29.10.2025.
Train No. 17479 Puri – Tirupati Express is cancelled on 30.10.2025.
Train No. 18521 Visakhapatnam – Kadapa Express is cancelled on 29.10.2025.
Train No. 18464 KSR Bengaluru – Bhubaneswar Express is cancelled on 29.10.2025.
Train No. 58538 Visakhapatnam (VSKP) – Koraput (KRPU) Passenger is cancelled. Train No. 58537 Koraput (KRPU) – Visakhapatnam (VSKP) Passenger is cancelled. Train No. 58501 Visakhapatnam (VSKP) – Kirandul (KRDL) Passenger is cancelled. Train No. 58502 Kirandul (KRDL) – Visakhapatnam (VSKP) Passenger is cancelled. Train No. 58531 Brahmapur (BAM) – Visakhapatnam (VSKP) Passenger is cancelled.
Train No. 20851 Bhubaneswar – Puducherry Superfast Express scheduled to leave Bhubaneswar at 12.10 hrs on 28th October, 2025 is fully cancelled
Train No. 20852 Puducherry – Bhubaneswar Superfast Express scheduled to leave Bhubaneswar at 18.50 hrs on 29th October, 2025 is fully cancelled.
Train No.18516 Kirandul – Visakhapatnam Express is cancelled on 29.10.2025

Short Termination/ Short Origination of Trains

The train No. 18005 Howrah- Jagdalpur Samaleswari express leaving Howrah on 27.10.2025 will be short terminated at Rayagada and will return as 18006 from Rayagada to Howrah on 29.10.2025. Hence there will be no service of this train between Rayagada and Jagadalpur on 29.10.2025
The train No. 18448 Hirakhand express will start from Rayagada to Bhubaneswar instead of Jagdalpur on 28.10.2025. Hence there will be no service of this train between Rayagada and Jagadalpur on 28.10.2025
The train No. 18108 Intercity express will start from Rayagada to Rourkela on 28.10.2025 instead of Jagdalpur. Hence there will no service of this train between Rayagada and Jagadalpur on 28.10.2025.

Diversion of Train Services:

Train No. 18189 Tatanagar – Ernakulam Express, commencing journey on 28.10.2025, will be diverted via Titlagarh – Lakhole – Raipur – Durg – Gondia – Nagbhir – Chandafort – Balharshah – Bellampalli – Ramagundam – Warangal – Khammam – Vijayawada.
Train No. 12703 Howrah – Secunderabad Express, commencing journey on 28.10.2025, will be diverted via Vizianagaram – Rayagada – Titlagarh – Lakhole – Raipur – Durg – Gondia – Nagbhir – Chandafort – Balharshah – Bellampalli – Kazipet – Secunderabad.
