Mumbai Metro Connections

The Metro network now connects to several suburban stations, which makes cross-city journeys much faster. Key link points include Ghatkopar and Andheri on Metro Line 1, Dahisar on Lines 2A and 7, and Dadar and Bandra Kurla Complex on Line 3. For the full picture see our Metro Railways in India guide.

Official network information is published by Western Railway and Central Railway.

Fast and Slow Trains: What the Map Does Not Show

Every line runs both slow trains, which stop at every station, and fast trains, which skip most of them. The map shows all stations, but a fast train will pass straight through many of them.

Western Line fast trainsTypically halt at Churchgate, Mumbai Central, Dadar, Bandra, Andheri, Borivali, Bhayander, Vasai Road, Virar
Central Line fast trainsTypically halt at CSMT, Dadar, Kurla, Ghatkopar, Thane, Dombivli, Kalyan
Harbour LineMostly all-stopping, with limited fast services

Check the indicator before boarding. Platform boards and the m-Indicator app show whether the next train is fast or slow. Boarding a fast train for a station it does not serve means travelling past your stop and doubling back.
