Duty Pass Quota in Trains
Railways reservation Duty Pass Quota in Trains is meant for railways staff on duty. Details about Duty Pass Quotas in Indian Railway are the following.
All those railway staffs that need to travel in trains to perform their duty have a duty pass through which they can board the trains. Against the duty pass, they can get reservations in all the trains even Rajdhani trains. This pass is issued to staff members before their actual date of travel to perform a duty under Indian Railway rules throughout India.
Earmarking Duty Pass Quota in Rajdhani/Shatabdi Type Trains
Duty Pass Quota is for serving/retired railway servants traveling on Duty/Privilege/Post Retirement Complimentary (PRC) passes. Now there Railway made a slight modification of Duty Pass Quota in Rajdhani/Shatabdi type trains i.e Rajdhani/Shatabdi/Duronto/Gatiman etc. In which the fare is higher than normal Mail/Express trains. The revised policy is under:-
- In 3 AC class of Rajdhani type trains and AC Chari Car and 2S/SL in Duronto trains, 50% of the earmarked Duty Pass Quota shall be earmarked at the counter and the remaining 50% shall be released as emergency Quota subject to the maximum limit mentioned in the subsequent paragraph.
- In 2 AC class, approximately 1/4th of the earmarked Duty Pass Quota shall be earmarked at the counter for booking by Duty/Privilege/PRC pass holders and the remaining will be released as an emergency quota subject to the maximum limit mentioned below.
- The maximum number of berths/seats to be earmarked as Duty Pass Quota shall broadly be as under:-

- The actual Duty Pass Quota to be earmarked at the counter and that as Emergency Quota shall be decided by Zonal Railways, based on the number of coaches of that class available on the train.
