Additionally, satellite cities like Noida will be linked with connecting railway stations, like New Delhi, improving overall connectivity. A total of 175 popular cities/areas have been mapped to 725 stations through the incorporation of technology changes. This information will be available in the journey planner station search of the e-ticket booking website and will also be displayed on the electronic reservation slip of the ticket. The benefits to passengers include: Better and Personalized Experience: Travelers will enjoy improved rail journey planning tailored to their preferences. Tourist Convenience: Visitors will find it easier to locate stations and plan their trips to places of tourist importance, like Kashi, Khatu Shyam, Badrinath, Kedarnath, Vaishnodevi, etc. Enhanced Connectivity: The linking of satellite cities with connecting railway stations will result in better transportation options. Regional Importance and Pride: Associating popular city names with railway stations will instil a sense of pride and ownership among citizens. Instant Scheduled station Change : Furthermore, this functionality will aid communication in cases of operational changes where scheduled stations might be replaced due to maintenance activities. For instance, if a train's scheduled station is changed to Asarva from Ahmedabad, the journey planner will display Asarva when the user inputs Ahmedabad. Moreover, the Management Information System (MIS) generated from this data will contribute to better planning for new trains and station amenities. This initiative marks a significant step towards improving the overall travel experience for Indian Railways passengers.
