Sarathi Seva facility provides helping hands to handicap peoples. Sarathi Seva Facility introduced to help Handicap peoples providing wheel-chair along with Assistant providing free of cost onboarding/alighting points. This facility is available only on Konkan Rail Line.

Presenting Railway Budget 2016-17 in Parliament today, the Minister of Railways Shri Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu announced that all operational halts will be converted into commercial halts, for the convenience of passengers. He also said that Sarathi Seva was introduced in Konkan Railway to help the old and disabled passengers requiring assistance at stations. this service will be expanded at many more stations. The existing services for enabling passengers to book battery operated cars, porter services, etc. on a paid basis in addition to the existing pickup and drop, and wheel chair services will be strengthened, Railway announced through a press release on 25-February-2016.
Other Facilities offered by Indian Railway to the disabled, medical patients, and elderly are wheelchair facility, Yatri Mitra Sewa, Buggy Services or Platform Cars at Railway stations.
