Pune Metro Lines in 2026
Pune Metro currently runs two operational lines, with a third opening in phases:

The two running lines together cover about 33 km. The Purple and Aqua lines started operations in March 2022 and were extended in stages up to 2024.
Line 1 (Purple Line): PCMC to Swargate
The Purple Line runs north to south, connecting the industrial hub of PCMC (Pimpri-Chinchwad) to Swargate in the heart of the city, passing through key points like Kasarwadi, Dapodi, Shivajinagar and the Civil Court area. Part of this line is underground through the central city stretch. The end-to-end journey takes about 34 minutes. Shivajinagar offers a handy connection towards Pune Railway Station.
Line 2 (Aqua Line): Vanaz to Ramwadi
The Aqua Line runs east to west, linking the residential areas of Kothrud and Vanaz to the commercial and IT zones near Yerwada, Kalyani Nagar and Ramwadi. This elevated line is very useful for people heading towards the Kharadi IT parks, and the end-to-end ride takes about 25 to 30 minutes.
Line 3 (Pink Line): Hinjewadi to Civil Court
The most awaited line is Line 3, connecting the big Rajiv Gandhi IT Park in Hinjewadi to Civil Court via Balewadi and Baner. This 23 km line is built as a Public-Private Partnership and is opening in phases through mid-2026. It is a big relief for the thousands of IT professionals who commute to Hinjewadi every day. Pune Metro Timings
Pune Metro generally runs from about 6:00 AM to 11:00 PM. Trains arrive about every 7 minutes during peak hours and every 10 to 15 minutes at off-peak times. Exact first and last train timings differ by station, so check the Pune Metro app or the station display for your route.
Pune Metro Fare and Ticketing
Fares are distance based, and generally range from about Rs 10 to Rs 35 for a single journey. There are several easy ways to pay:
- QR code ticket: book through the Pune Metro app and scan at the gate. Quick and cashless.
- Token: buy a single-journey token at the station counter or vending machine.
- One Pune Card (NCMC): the RuPay-based National Common Mobility Card gives a discount, reported as around 10% on weekdays and more on weekends, and works as a tap-and-travel card.

Is There a Metro to Pune Airport?
Not directly yet. The nearest operational station to Pune Airport (Lohegaon) is Ramwadi on the Aqua Line, about 2 to 3 km away. From Ramwadi you can take a feeder bus, auto or cab to the airport. A dedicated link towards the airport via the Kalyani Nagar side is planned, which will reduce the need for a road transfer in future.
