MAJOR TRAIN BLOCKS 2026

Indian Railway is conducting major train blocks for various reasons including rail maintenance, over bridge maintenance, platform renovation, doubling works, due to heavy rain etc. Even though we are updating the train cancellation details daily in some other pages, for more conveniences of readers we decided to mention the full details of the blocks with mentioning of station name , date, name of the railway zone which announced the blocks etc.

BAIYYAPPANAHALLI YARD : RESCHEDULING AND REGULATION OF TRAINS UPTO 04.12.2026

South Western Railway announced that in connection with safety related works at Baiyyappanahalli Yard, the following trains will be rescheduled and regulated o­n the dates mentioned below.

Rescheduling of Trains

  • Train No. 22135 Mysuru–Renigunta Weekly Express, departing o­n 30.10.2026 and 20.11.2026, will be rescheduled by 60 minutes, and o­n 06.11.2026, 13.11.2026, 27.11.2026 and 04.12.2026 by 75 minutes.
  • Train No. 22818 Mysuru–Shalimar Weekly Superfast Express, departing o­n 08.11.2026, will be rescheduled by 60 minutes.
  • Train No. 12889 Tatanagar–SMVT Bengaluru Weekly Superfast Express, departing o­n 30.10.2026, will be rescheduled by 75 minutes, and o­n 27.11.2026 by 90 minutes.
  • Train No. 18637 Hatia–SMVT Bengaluru Weekly Express, departing o­n 07.11.2026, 21.11.2026 and 28.11.2026, will be rescheduled by 75 minutes.
  • Train No. 16560 Bidar–SMVT Bengaluru Bi-weekly Express, departing o­n 31.10.2026, 23.11.2026, 28.11.2026 and 30.11.2026, will be rescheduled by 75 minutes.
  • Train No. 12835 Hatia–SMVT Bengaluru Bi-weekly Superfast Express, departing o­n 10.11.2026, 17.11.2026, 24.11.2026, 29.11.2026 and 01.12.2026, will be rescheduled by 75 minutes, and o­n 27.10.2026 and 22.11.2026 by 90 minutes.
  • Train No. 16598 Alipur Duar–SMVT Bengaluru Amrit Bharat Weekly Express, departing o­n 09.11.2026, 16.11.2026, 23.11.2026 and 30.11.2026, will be rescheduled by 90 minutes, and o­n 26.10.2026 by 120 minutes.
  • Train No. 16524 Balurghat–SMVT Bengaluru Weekly Express, departing o­n 07.11.2026, 21.11.2026 and 28.11.2026, will be rescheduled by 90 minutes.
  • Train No. 13434 Malda Town–SMVT Bengaluru Amrit Bharat Weekly Express, departing o­n 15.11.2026, will be rescheduled by 75 minutes, o­n 29.11.2026 by 90 minutes, and o­n 22.11.2026 by 120 minutes.

SATLANA, DUDIA – DUNDARA STATIONS : ENGINEERING WORKS UPTO 20.12.2026

North Western Railway announced the diversion of train services due to engineering works at Satlana, Dudia and Dundara stations on the Luni–Samdari–Bhildi section of Jodhpur Division. The details of the diverted trains are given below.

  • Train No. 20625 Dr MGR Chennai Central – Bhagat Ki Kothi Superfast Express scheduled to leave o­n Dr MGR Chennai Central at 19.35 hrs o­n 17th and 18th December, 2026 will be diverted to run via Mahesana, Palanpur, Marwar and Luni skipping stoppages at Patan, Bhildi, Raniwara, Marwar Bhinmal, Modran, Jalor, Mokalsar, Samdari and Luni
  • Train No. 20626 Bhagat Ki Kothi – Dr MGR Chennai Central Superfast Express scheduled to leave Bhagat Ki Kothi at 05.40 hrs o­n 20th December, 2026 will be diverted to run via Luni, Marwar, Palanpur and Mahesana skipping stoppages at Luni, Samdari, Mokalsar, Jalor, Modran, Marwar Bhinmal, Raniwara, Bhildi and Patan

PATLI – JATAULA JAURI SAMPKA STATIONS : POWER AND TRAFFIC BLOCKS UPTO 17.12.2026

Northern Railway announced that due to 02 nos. power and traffic blocks of 4.00 hours each for insertion of protection arrangement for pushing of RCC boxes near bridge no. 77 between Patli – Jataula Jauri Sampka stations o­n Delhi Jn -Rewari Jn. section, the following trains shall be rescheduled/regulated, as under:-

Rescheduling

  • Train no. 09611 Ajmer Jn – Yog Nagari Rishikesh JCO 16.12.2026 will be rescheduled for 21.15 hours from Ajmer Jn (i.e. 90 minutes late).

Regulation

  • Train no. 54413 Delhi Jn – Rewari Jn. JCO 17.12.2026 will be regulated for 15 minutes en-route.
  • Train no. 19031 Sabarmati BG – Yog Nagari Rishikesh JCO 16.12.2026 will be regulated for 45 minutes en-route.
  • Train no. 20474 Udaipur City – Delhi Sarai Rohilla JCO 16.12.2026 will be regulated for 20 minutes en-route.
  • Train no. 22481 Jodhpur Jn – Delhi Sarai Rohilla JCO 16.12.2026 will be regulated for 10 minutes enroute.

BENGALURU CANTONMENT – WHITEFIELD : TRAIN REGULATION UPTO 05.11.2026

South Western Railway announced that in connection with the Bengaluru Cantonment–Whitefield quadrupling works, the following trains will be rescheduled and regulated o­n the dates mentioned below.

Rescheduling of Train

  • Train No. 15227 SMVT Bengaluru–Muzaffarpur Weekly Express, departing from SMVT Bengaluru o­n 29.10.2026 and 05.11.2026 will be rescheduled by 120 minutes.

Regulation of Trains

  • Train No. 16598 Alipur Duar-SMVT Bengaluru Weekly Express, journey commencing o­n 26.10.2026 and 02.11.2026, will be regulated for 30 minutes en route.
  • Train No. 16021 Puratchi Thalaivar Dr. MGR Chennai Central–Ashokapuram Kaveri Daily Express, journey commencing o­n 27.10.2026, will be regulated for 20 minutes en route, and journey commencing o­n 31.10.2026 and 01.11.2026, will be regulated for 15 minutes en route.

ASANGAON – KASARA : SPECIAL TRAFFIC AND POWER BLOCK UPTO 13.10.2026

A special traffic and power block will be implemented between Asangaon – Kasara third line and Kasara yard expansion work from October 10 to 13, 2026. During this period, some suburban railway services will undergo short termination/origination, and mail/express trains will run 20 to 40 minutes late.

From 07.10.2026 to 18.10.2026, a special 12-day traffic and power block is being taken at Kasara in connection with the work on the Asangaon–Kasara third line project and the extension of the “Up” yard line at Kasara yard.

Please note the correction to the earlier press release dated 1 October 2026: Train No. 22538 Lokmanya Tilak Terminus–Gorakhpur Kushinagar Express, which runs on 9.10.2026, will now depart from Lokmanya Tilak Terminus at 04:30 hrs. (In the earlier press release, it was mistakenly mentioned that this train would depart from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus.)

Details of the railway block from 10.10.2026 to 13.10.2026

Block dates: Saturday 10.10.2026 to Tuesday 13.10.2026.

Block timings:

  • On Saturday, 10.10.2026, from 15.35 to 21.35 hrs.
  • On Sunday, 11.10.2026, from 11.30 to 18.30 hrs.
  • On Monday, 12.10.2026 and Tuesday, 13.10.2026, from 15.35 to 20.35 hrs.

Section affected: The “Up” Main Line between Kasara and Khardi/Umbermali–Kasara. This includes Platform Nos. 1, 3 and 4 and the “Up” yard.

Impact on train operations – Suburban services

During the block period, suburban services will not be available between Asangaon and Kasara stations.

Suburban train operations during the block

On 10.10.2026, 12.10.2026 and 13.10.2026, the following suburban railway services will be short-terminated or originated:

  • Suburban services from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus to Kasara, which leave CSMT at 13:14, 14:17, 14:46 and 16:50, will be short-terminated at Asangaon station.
  • Suburban services from Kasara to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, which leave Kasara at 15:35, 16:16, 17:02 and 18:17, will instead start from Asangaon station at 16:12, 16:54, 17:39 and 18:54 respectively.
  • On 10.10.2026, the Kasara–Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus suburban service leaving Kasara at 20:15 will run 20 minutes late.

On 11.10.2026, suburban services will be short-terminated or originated as follows:

  • Suburban services from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus to Kasara, which leave CSMT at 13:14, 14:17 and 14:46, will be short-terminated at Asangaon station.
  • Suburban services from Kasara to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, which leave Kasara at 15:35, 16:16 and 17:02, will instead start from Asangaon station at 16:12, 16:54 and 17:39 respectively.
  • The Kasara–Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus suburban service leaving Kasara at 18:17 will run 13 minutes late.

Last and first suburban services during the block period from 10.10.2026 to 13.10.2026

  • The last suburban service before the block, for travel towards Kasara on the “Down North East” route, will leave Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus at 12:30 between 10.10.2026 and 13.10.2026.
  • The last suburban service before the block, for travel towards Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus on the “Up North East” route, will leave Kasara at 14:42 between 10.10.2026 and 13.10.2026.
  • The first suburban service after the block, for travel towards Kasara on the “Down North East” route, will leave Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus as follows:
  • At 18:28 on 10.10.2026, 12.10.2026 and 13.10.2026.
  • At 16:50 on 11.10.2026 (Sunday).
  • The first suburban service after the block, for travel towards Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus on the “Up North East” route, will leave Kasara as follows:
  • At 20:35 on 10.10.2026.
  • At 18:30 on 11.10.2026.
  • At 20:15 on 12.10.2026 and 13.10.2026.

Impact on railway traffic – Mail and Express trains

The following trains will be regulated at or before Igatpuri in the Bhusawal division on 10.10.2026, 12.10.2026 and 13.10.2026. They will reach their destinations 35 to 40 minutes late.

  • Train No. 12166 Gorakhpur – Lokmanya Tilak Terminus Express will be regulated on 10.10.2026.
  • Train No. 12172 Haridwar – Lokmanya Tilak Terminus Air-Conditioned Express will be regulated on 10.10.2026.

CSMT : 75 DAYS TRAFFIC AND POWER BLOCK AND DADAR – THANE : SHORT TERMINATION OF TRAINS : FROM 01.10.2026 TO 15.12.2026

Central Railway announced that CR will operate Traffic and Power Block at Platform Nos. 14 and 15 along with stabling line 15 of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) from 01.10.2026 to 15.12.2026 (75 days) in connection with the CSMT redevelopment work- Phase-I, carried out by RLDA. This is an extension of earlier block operated o­n platform no 16 and 17 for the same. As part of the redevelopment project, foundation work and other essential activities at Platform Nos. 14 and 15 along with stabling line 15 will be carried out during the block period. Train operations from platform no 14 and 15 will be suspended until completion of work after which the platform will be handed over by RLDA for traffic operations.

The following UP Mail/Express trains will be short terminated from 01.10.2026 till completion of work.

TIRUCHCHIRAPPALLI, PALAKKAD, SALEM, THIRUVANANTHAPURAM DIVISION : FIXED TIME CORRIDOR BLOCK UPTO 29.10.2026

Southern Railway announced that Fixed Time Corridor Block for various safety and maintenance work has been approved in Tiruchchirappalli, Palakkad, Salem, Thiruvananthapuram Division for the month of October 2026, hence the following changes have been made in the pattern of train services:

Partial Cancellation of Train Services

  • Train No. 22651 Dr MGR Chennai Central – Palakkad Superfast Express scheduled to leave Dr MGR Chennai Central at 21.30 hrs from 09th to 29th October, 2026 will be partially cancelled between Palakkad Town and Palakkad Jn. The train will be short terminated at Palakkad Town
  • Train No. 22652 Palakkad Jn – Dr MGR Chennai Central Superfast Express scheduled to leave Palakkad at 15.50 hrs from 10th to 29th October, 2026 will be partially cancelled between Palakkad Jn and Palakkad Town. The train will originate from Palakkad Town at its scheduled departure time of 16.04 hrs

Diversion of Train Services

  • Train No. 16159 Chennai Egmore – Mangaluru Central Express scheduled to leave Chennai Egmore at 23.10 hrs o­n 06th, 13th October, 2026 will be diverted to run via Irugur and Podanur skipping stoppages at Pilamedu, Coimbatore North and Coimbatore.
  • Train No. 16128 Guruvayur – Chennai Egmore Express scheduled to leave Guruvayur at 23.15 hrs o­n 16th October, 2026 will be diverted to run via Ernakulam Jn, Cherthala, Alappuzha, Ambalapuzha & Haripad. Additional stoppages will be provided at Kottayam, Changanasseri, Tiruvalla and Chengannur
  • Train No. 13352 Alappuzha – Dhanbad Express scheduled to leave Alappuzha at 06.00 hrs o­n 04th, 07th, 08th October, 2026 will be diverted to run via Podanur and Irugur skipping stoppage at Coimbatore. Additional stoppage will be provided at Podanur with timings 12.15 (Arr)/12.20 (Dep) hrs

Southern Railway announced that Fixed Time Corridor Block for various safety and maintenance work has been approved in Chennai Division for the month of October hence the following changes have been made in the pattern of train services:

Konkan Railway announced that it has been decided by South Western Railway to cancel Train no. 16515 / 16516 Yesvantpur – Karwar – Yesvantpur Tri-Weekly Express due to Line Block for Tamping work and Material Train work between Shrivagilu – Yedakumari section. South Western Railway annoyed that due to Line Block for track maintenance and engineering works between Shrivagilu – Yedakumeri stations of Mysuru Division, the following train services will be cancelled o­n the dates mentioned below.

  • Train No. 18107 Rourkela–Jagdalpur Express will remain cancelled on specified dates between 07.07.2026 and 17.11.2026, while Train No. 18108 Jagdalpur–Rourkela Express will remain cancelled on specified dates between 08.07.2026 and 18.11.2026.
  • Train No. 13288 Ara–Durg Express will be short-terminated and short-originated at Rourkela on specified dates from 02.07.2026 to 12.11.2026. Similarly, Train No. 13287 Durg–Ara Express will be short-terminated and short-originated at Rourkela on specified dates from 03.07.2026 to 13.11.2026.
  • Train No. 18478 Yog Nagri Rishikesh–Puri Utkal Express will be diverted via Ib, Jharsuguda Road, Sambalpur City and Cuttack on specified dates from 02.07.2026 to 12.11.2026.

VASAI ROAD STATION : CLOSURE OF FOB O­N EAST SIDE FOR 3 MONTHS

Western Railway has announced that, in connection with the construction of a new deck along with staircase and escalator facilities on the east side of Vasai Road station, the existing old Foot Over Bridge (FOB) on the same side will be dismantled. Therefore, the FOB will remain closed for commuters from 28th March 2026 for a period of three months. During this time, commuters are advised to use the entry and exit through the staircase of the RLDA building.

  1. Now a days lot of trains are having loose times which can be utilized for eg train no 17031
    Mumbai Hyderabad express right time at solapur is 22.05 22.15 but it will come at 22.55 and leaves at 23.05 almost 40mts late but will arrive Hyderabad at 5.45 am instead of 5.55am
    Similarly train no 17319 which leaves secunderabad at 15.40 reaches at 22.10 to Hotgi and departs at 23.10 reaches Gadag at 5.20 leaves Gadag at 6.10 am and reaches Hubli at 7.25 am.The timings can be changed so that the train can reach Hubli at 6.50am.

    Train no 11304 reaches Dharwar at 15.15 and reaches Hubballi at 15.50 leaves at 16.15 and reaches Guntakal at 22.00 arrives at 4.20at vikarabad . If you cutshort halt at Hubli and other the train can reach 5.45 am secunderabad.

  2. Suddenly all the trains were cancelled causing inconvenience to passengers and the railway in one line regretted. The works as informed could have been segregated.
    Today I am stuck at Guwahati as our train was cancelled. We were in a group of about 100 passengers, going to Odisha, about 1000 KM’s most are senior citizens and ladies booked tickets in the month of February 19. The plight can be well imagined. The train was cancelled abruptly with out prior information. The train could be rescheduled/diverted as the train covers long route. The authority could have planned early and stopped booking and notify in the Newspaper in advance
